Kevin Weeks (born March 21, 1956) is a former mobster who has been a longtime buddy and confidant of James J. Bulger, the notorious leader of the Winter Hill Gang, a criminal organisation located in Somerville, Massachusetts. He became a cooperative witness after his arrest and incarceration in 1999. The convictions of FBI agent John Connolly and mobster Stephen Flemmi are credited to his evidence. He has published the popular true crime book, Brutal: My Life in Whitey Bulger’s Irish Mob, after his release from jail (ISBN 978-0-06-112269-9). This was followed by Where’s Whitey?, a fictitious book featuring Bulger, which was also written with Phyllis Karas. The book’s promotion began on the same day as the FBI increased its attempts to apprehend Bulger with an advertising; Bulger was apprehended two days later.
